We also have the most wonderful hotels, restaurants, and leisure facilities imaginable. We share some links below:
To see
Poole Harbour
Poole’s harbour is claimed to be the largest natural harbour in Europe. The water is relatively shallow and the tidal range is one of the smallest around the UK, perfect for boating and water-based leisure sports. With 100 miles of shoreline, the harbour is a vast adventure playground. That said, the entrance is only 300m wide where the Sandbanks Ferry provides a vital link between Poole and the ‘Isle’ of Purbeck. The Harbour is home to 15 different marina’s and yacht clubs, and well over 5,000 leisure boat. Turning east leaving the harbour is 7 miles of Poole and Bournemouth’s golden sandy beaches. Turning east is the equally inviting 3 mile beach of Studland bay.
There are 9 islands of varying sizes. The largest Brownsea Island which is owned and managed by the National Trust. It is most famous as the place where The Scouts was founded by Lord Baden Powell. Stone Island, is only visible behind high tides.
